InstaFriday

Linking up with Jeannett for another InstaFriday.

Last week we celebrated all the July birthdays for my hubby's side of the family, mine included...yippee! Benihana is a birthday tradition.

One night this week I made Homemade Mac & Cheese with Ham...YUM!

Such a good big brother! He pulled his sisters around the yard for looooong time!

Then all three of our munchkins climbed into the radio flyer

Last night we went to Chevy's for dinner. Kids eat free for the month of July...just a few more days to take advantage of that!

Instagram Catch Up

Remember when I said I was back to blogging? And that we were going to have an easy, laid back summer? Well...all that went out the window when we decided last week to put our house on the market. YIKES!

We've talked about it for a long time, but not seriously until last week when a lovely house lot came on the market in our favorite neighborhood. We're in crazy mode around here trying to get the house into ship-shape.

So here's some instagram photos to catch you up on the last few weeks...

My sister-in-law was in town so we went to our favorite Italian restaurant to celebrate her visit. SO GOOOOOOD!

I'm getting ready for the day...making my Cowboy Caviar and Lemonade Flag Cake for today's festivities.

We'll be doing the same thing we did last year, which is always a fun time.

Have a safe and happy day!

Our Mexican Getaway

Happy July! After a much needed family vacation to Mexico, I'm back to blogging.

My entire family had the opportunity to travel to Punta Mita, Mexico, just outside of Puerto Vallarta.

Punta Mita is one of those little hidden treasures. It's a small fishing village and just outside of town is a quiet gated community of resorts of condos. It's absolutely beautiful!

We left Portland and landed in San Diego for a quick layover.

buh-bye PDX

hello San Diego...stay classy!
She was a good little traveler

sleepy head
We landed in Puerto Vallarta and drove about 40 minutes out to this beautiful place...

back patio

The condo sits on a golf course and there is a pool right off the back patio

There was no one else in the whole complex, so we had this pool all to ourselves!

Within the Punta Mita gates is a beach club for residents. It's just a few minutes away from the condo and they even have a kiddie pool with a play structure and grassy play area.

The beaches were clean and white. The water was warm and clear.

We spent lots of time here. The hubby and I tried paddle boarding for the first time and the boy learned how to surf with my dad! My dad is an avid surfer and has been waiting for that day for 7 years! We got some video, but no photos.

We ate some fantastic food together

One of the meals in town was at Si Senor and it was, by far, the best restaurant in town. It sits on Banderas Bay and each table has an beautiful view.

They do table-side salsa and guacamole, both of which are amazing!

And they show you, in person, parts of the menu. Yellowfin Tuna was their catch of the day. They also had local lobster and shrimp.

The servers were very nice and accommodating. They even gave the kids little gifts! A slingshot for the boy and for the girls...little purses. Or as Miguel (our server) called it...Mexican Louis Vuitton....hahahaha!! Look at those sun-kissed faces!

Speaking of food, our sweet groundskeeper at the condo cut down some coconuts for us. We sprinkled them with lime juice and ate it fresh. It's not really my cup of tea, but it's a beautiful fruit!

This is what the condo looked like each night. Everyone had their laptops, iPads, iPhones and Kindles out.

We also had nightly visitors...geckos!

Towards the end of our trip the hubs and I got to have a date night! We went back to Si Senor for another fabulous meal.

We're already planning dreaming of our next vacation. It's always so nice to get away.
